Learning to discern the spirit of poverty

For decades, even centuries, a spirit of poverty has invaded the Church. What is a spirit of poverty, you ask?

Simply this: A spirit of poverty is a collective and religious mindset that believes the following:

  • The poor are virtuous, the rich are sinful
  • God doesn’t want you to be wealthy
  • Having money will lead you to hell
  • Jesus was poor and so should you

In this episode, we will take a biblical look at what some have called "The Prosperity Gospel" to find out if riches really do lead to vice, or if we were only taught so.

We will also discuss the financial situation of our savior during His ministry and find out if He was really as poor as advertised.

In the end, you will find out that as a Christian Entrepreneur, having money is not only necessary, but a very real and useful thing in order to fulfill your unique God-given assignment. After all, there is a reason why: God delights in the prosperity of His servant (Psalm [35:27]).

To paraphrase Al Capone, “You can go a lot farther with godliness AND money, than with godliness alone.”

In This Episode You Will:

  • Get an in-depth understanding of the story of the rich man and Lazarus

  • Be equipped with the necessary knowledge to identify and shed the Spirit of poverty in your life

  • Get unique insight on how to answer the oft-ask question: “How much money is too much for a believer?”

  • Be invited to join a very special Facebook group and financial challenge.

Memorable Quotes:

“You can go a lot farther with godliness AND money, than with godliness alone.”

The question is not how much of my money I give to God, but rather how much of God’s money I keep for myself.”

“Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.” ~ Luke [16:25]

“Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” ~ Mark [10:21]
