The Myth of Repetitive Prayer

Published on: 3rd December, 2019

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, we read: “Pray without ceasing.” Most believers, ourselves included, have made the mistake of understanding this means we should pray repetitively for the same thing, day, after day, after day, after day…

However, when we really dig into the Scriptures and listen to men of faith who have mastered the art of praying, we realize that repetition has little if anything to do with it.

Paul was right, “...the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” ~ Romans 8:26

But hey, it’s not because we ‘know not what to pray for’ that we shouldn’t seek to improve our prayer life, right?

In this episode, we consider how we should pray. Here is a hint: It takes into account that God isn’t deaf.

Memorable Quotes:

“A negative spirit will rarely give a positive life.”
