The Price π² and the Rewards π° of Seeking First the Kingdom π
Whether we like to admit it or not, many of us are like the rich young ruler. He served as a cautionary tale. When Jesus told him to seel his possessions and follow Him, he felt he couldn't pay the price. Many of us also want to keep something back from Godβour time, money, and effort. And yet, the price for entry into the Kingdom and access to its glory is everything.
But, on the upside, the rewards of seeking first the Kingdom are even greater than its price.
One of my favourite passages of scriptures is the conversation between a worried Peter (after he witnessed the rich young ruler being deemed unqualified for Kingdom entry) and Jesus, in Luke 18:29 :
βPeter said, βSee, we have left all and followed You.β
In effect, Peter was asking: βLook Jesus, weβre all 100% in. We left it all behind as proof. So, if you donβt mind my asking; whatβs in it for us?β
"So He said to them, βAssuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.ββ ~ Luke 18:29 (NKJV)
There are undeniable rewards for those who are willing to pay the price and are 'All In' for the Kingdom of God.
Now, this brings up the ultimate question... Are YOU All In?
